Jon Berning is a proud fifth-generation farmer and partner in Berning Farms, a family farming operation with deep roots in western Kansas. Headquartered in Scott City, KS, the farm produces wheat, corn, and milo across Wichita, Scott, Lane, Logan, and Greeley counties. Jon and his team rely on their expertise and the trusted performance of John Deere implements to keep the operation running smoothly.
He attended Kansas State University and a Kansas Sorghum Commissioner, Jon brings both academic knowledge and industry leadership to his role. He is passionate about advancing sustainable agriculture practices and ensuring the legacy of family farming for generations to come.
When he’s not in the field, Jon enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with his wife Terri and their three grown children, all of whom are actively involved in the family’s production agriculture business. For Jon, farming is more than a career—it’s a way of life that combines hard work, family values, and a commitment to the land.
